Every public save editor for Cyberpunk 2077 (CyberCAT, CyberCAT-SimpleGUI, PixelRick's editor) is a Windows application that Mac players could only run through Wine, CrossOver, Whisky or a VM. Save Kit reads and writes the same sav.dat the game uses, so edits load directly in the native Mac build.

It edits money and item quantities, adds any of 7,552 catalogued items from a searchable list with in-game names, and edits attributes plus attribute, perk and relic points. A timestamped backup is written before any overwrite. Appearance and lifepath editing are left out on purpose, because those edits are known to corrupt saves.

How it works

  • The hard part is the save format, not the UI: a compressed tree of nodes serialized through REDengine's RTTI, spanning thousands of generated types that move with every patch. Instead of re-deriving that schema, the app reuses WolvenKit's save reader and writer, which keeps checksum and size recomputation correct and current with the toolkit.
  • WolvenKit targets .NET 8, which runs natively on Apple Silicon. Avalonia renders a real native window on top of the same runtime, so there is no interop layer between the UI and the parser.
  • LZ4 and CRC32 are handled in managed code. Item names are resolved by hashing candidates with REDengine's TweakDBID scheme and matching a bundled list. Nothing needs Oodle, which matters because WolvenKit's bundled Kraken decompressor is x86_64 only.
  • The app is self-contained: the .NET runtime ships inside the bundle so players install nothing. It is signed and notarized, and checks GitHub for a newer release on launch.
